Quarter of total bank lending
IDFC accounts for a quarter of total bank lending to private projects in areas like roads, ports, power and airports and is at the centre of building infrastructure in India.
Mega financing and investment capabilities
IDFC has funded 11600 MW of new power generation capacity, 10 million TEUs of cargo handling capacity at different ports, 2100 km of new highways. The private equity arm of IDFC has stakes in 3 airports, 10 ports and terminals, 31 roads and bridges, 4962 hotel rooms, 4137 hospital beds, 6 power plants and 3100 km of gas pipelines.
In roads, of the 75 or so projects awarded under Public Private Partnership financing structures, IDFC has participated in 25 of them; in ports, of the 12 projects bid out by state maritime boards/ major ports so far on BOT basis, IDFC has participated in 6 of them; and in airports, of the 5 projects bid out for privatization, IDFC has participated in 3 of them.
IDFC has made significant progress towards diversifying its product range in response to the more challenging financing needs of the country's infrastructure sector. The acquisition of the Mutual Fund business completes the product range by adding the public markets fund management capability. |
